Corruption

The last English success, at least in terms of critical ignored in hearing comes on the heels of Canal +. For 8 weeks, has been involved in the world of English real estate corruption through the miniseries Crematorium. Based on the book by Rafael Chirbes, tells the story of Reuben Bertomeu, a businessman, self-made based on shady deals with drug and property. Not only see how the rise and fall of Reuben, but the consequences that occur in their family and their acquaintances.

stupid Leaving aside the discussion of "other English series is possible" (yes, I am totally against and someday write about it), Crematorium baby is literally a series of HBO, especially for productions like The Sopranos . Production is very well done in all aspects: from script to the locations. First, the script is perfect, very carefully. I do not know how far the series summarizes the essence of the book (I plan to read this summer), but everything looks good yarn. Perhaps only in the issue of flashbacks you can put a but rather in its meaning, that they get to see the starting point of Bertomeu, but perhaps through their placement in certain scenes have become a little strained. Secondly, we note the high budget of the series. The scenery is praise, both in the use of the wonderful views of the Mediterranean, as in other details such as the decoration of houses or wardrobes.

Although there is an air of corruption throughout its eight chapters, at any time, you are hurt by a softening of the characters. They are as they are greedy, arrogant, conceited and double standards. Because not only the protagonist can do the X-ray, but also her daughter who plays very well the double standard of money and principles. She, in my opinion, is the most interesting the entire series, chapter by chapter is reaching more importance and even could continue the series with it. But make no mistake, the series makes clear at all times that does not judge the characters, but shows a certain realism about life in that particular network of political and economic corruption. Masterfully moves in gray love making the characters, but hate their activities. In this, besides the script, helps the work of the actors incomnensurable, especially José Sancho, Alicia Borrachero and a surprising Juana Acosta, who get put you squarely in that life.

It is definitely a quality bet on a subject so close but yet so far as corruption is English. The theme is reflected in a convincing manner with some great actors, great script and great scenery. It is, of course, a very interesting series to watch, although the first chapter can let a little cold, when you hang out very pleased to have seen.
